Compared to 2025, Zakat al-Maal Collection Doubles in June 2026, Reaches MVR 21.3 Million

Maldives Zakat House recorded a significant increase in Zakat al-Maal collections during June 2026, with total collections reaching MVR 21,298,021.15, marking a 100 percent increase compared to MVR 10,644,218.55 collected in June 2025.

The latest statistics also show that Zakat al-Maal collections for the second quarter of 2026 (April–June) reached MVR 34.40 million, compared to MVR 26.73 million during the same period last year—an increase of 28.73 percent.

Meanwhile, collections during the first six months of 2026 totalled MVR 79.73 million, representing a 29.48 percent increase over the MVR 61.58 million collected during the corresponding period in 2025.

During June, Maldives Zakat House distributed MVR 18,824,537.13 through various assistance programmes under the eligible categories of Zakat.

The largest share of the funds, MVR 16,995,735.75, was allocated under the Poor and Needy category.
